About Us
Feminists of Shippensburg will be a club where anyone who shares values of equality for women and men can come together and make positive change happen. Historically, women could not earn a degree, like their male counterparts could, until the mid to late 1800’s. As a woman, being enrolled here at Shippensburg University is an honor and privilege, because I know that generations of women before me would have been denied this opportunity for learning. However, there is still so much inequality on college grounds, and women deserve to have a safe space to gather. Feminists of Shippensburg would be a community where women could come together to empower one another and share their experiences of being a woman in college. Overall, I envision the club being a place where the members can all discuss ways to make campus more equal and make the women of Shippensburg feel more heard.
